Out of Hours

We don't expect anyone to spend hours in the office just for the sake of it. We are more interested in the quality of the contribution than the quantity. Because our trainees are important members of the team, we involve them in marketing and client entertainment.

We have the social programme you would expect.

On the sporting side there is a weekly 5-a-side team, we play football, rugby, cricket and hockey friendlies against clients and take part in Law Society Rugby 7's. There are two golf days a year as well as individual golf days with clients. In the summer there is a full softball programme against clients in Regents Park. We also provide subsidised gym membership.

We have always provided a free bar at a local pub on Friday nights.

There's an annual summer party to which we invite future trainees and a Christmas pantomime which is written by the trainees and features a galaxy of stars from within the firm.

We aim to be as inclusive and non-hierarchical outside the office as we are in it.

Trainees can also get involved in pro bono work - Gouldens has supported the Waterloo Legal Advice Centre for over 20 years. The centre is open from 6.30pm to 9.00pm on Thursday evenings and Gouldens' lawyers attend each week.
